AriZona Iced Tea's new artist residency in New Jersey fosters artistic collaboration while enhancing the brand's unique identity and community engagement.

AriZona Iced Tea is more than just a beverage brand; it's a canvas for artistic expression deeply intertwined with its identity. Since its inception in 1992, AriZona’s distinct design aesthetic — driven by Southwestern motifs and a vibrant color palette — has set it apart in a crowded market. This has now taken a new and engaging turn with its recent artist residency program, which encourages creativity and community at a personal level.
Reinforcing a Unique Identity Through Art
Spencer Vultaggio, the current chief marketing officer and son of co-founders Don and Ilene Vultaggio, underscored the pivotal role that art has always played in the brand's narrative. “Art and design have always been an important part of AriZona’s visual identity,” he shared, reflecting on the brand’s expansion beyond mere aesthetic considerations to fostering interactive experiences.
AriZona recently inaugurated AriZonaLand in Keasbey, N.J., which serves as both a bottling facility and an artistic hub. The location boasts whimsical decor, including faux trees and themed patterns reminiscent of the iconic green tea cans, aiming to create a welcoming environment for visitors and creatives alike.
An Immersive Residency Experience
Launched in July 2025, the artist residency program hosted at the company’s headquarters in Woodbury, N.Y., invites up to four artists for six-week sessions, providing them with stipends, living spaces, materials, and access to collaborative workspaces, including a rooftop studio. This program stands as a testament to the founders’ commitment to authentic and personal branding.
Participants engage deeply with one another and the company's creative vision, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous exploration. “Having access to a genuine community of people whose common goal is to create together, support, and uplift each other is hard to come by these days,” Vultaggio explained. It’s not just about art; it’s about creating a supportive creative ecosystem.

Life as an Artist at AriZona
The residency not only serves as a professional development platform but also as a creative sanctuary. Eleanor Dexter, one of the latest cohort members, remarked on the benefits of working in such an environment. “I spend the day developing projects, experimenting with new ideas, and making the most of the full workday,” she shared. This immersive experience allows collaboration and feedback among artists, enhancing growth and learning.
The workspace, known as The Lookout, is fully equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology. Lucas Carlo Monasterio, another resident, described using advanced techniques such as laser-cutting leather, facilitating innovative community projects. He expressed a desire to scale these endeavors further, showing how the residency helps connect personal ambitions with larger artistic goals.
Exhibitions and Community Impact
At the end of each residency session, AriZona hosts an exhibition to showcase the artists’ work. This not only promotes individual artistic expressions but also strengthens the brand's identity within the community. Companies at this level often overlook the value of personal interaction with their audience, but AriZona seems to grasp this through tangible and interactive collaborations.
Recent artworks include Anna Fleury’s Southwest-inspired stained glass window, a result of inspiration drawn from the tools and materials available on-site. “I hadn’t even intended to work on stained glass before the residency,” she noted, emphasizing the transformational nature of the experience. This blend of personal creativity and corporate identity culminates in art that resonates with both the artists and the brand itself.

Fostering Connections and a Vibrant Legacy
This symbiotic relationship between the resident artists and AriZona goes beyond simple collaboration; it creates a continuous dialogue that enhances both personal and corporate legacies. It’s a reminder of how art can serve various purposes, including personal fulfillment and brand enrichment. Unlike typical corporate partnerships, AriZona’s approach is refreshingly human, grounded in a desire for authentic connections.
As artists express themselves, they often find inspiration in their surroundings, leading to innovative pieces that can pay homage to the brand. The residency fosters creativity while allowing AriZona to maintain its quirky brand image, a crucial element for standing out in a competitive market. Participants have access to unlimited AriZona products during their residency, reinforcing the notion that creativity thrives in an atmosphere of shared resources and unpretentious support.
This artist residency not only strengthens the brand’s identity among its customers but also highlights the importance of community and artistic expression in today’s corporate framework. AriZona Iced Tea illustrates how maintaining a personal touch can create lasting impressions both artistically and commercially.
